Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains what we do with your personal data. We follow the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, including its Amendment 13. We collect what the service needs and nothing to sell.

1. Who is responsible

GigCalm runs GigCalm and decides how your data is used. You can reach us at support@gigcalm.com.

2. What we collect

  • Account: your email address and a password. The password is stored only as a one-way hash, never in a form we can read.
  • Client profile: your full name and phone number. For a company: the company name and registration number (ח.פ.). The registration number is stored encrypted. A national ID number (ת.ז.) is asked for only if that check is switched on, and then it is stored encrypted and as a one-way fingerprint that lets us tell that one number is not used on two accounts.
  • Bookings: the artist, service, date and time, the status (waiting for an answer, confirmed, declined, expired, cancelled, no-show), who cancelled and the reason given.
  • Artists: the business profile (name, description, category, country, contact email and phone, time zone, currency), services, working hours, time off, public dates, media links, a logo, and the contracts and offer sheets they draft, including a signature image that is never shown publicly.
  • Technical data: session cookies, your IP address and request details in our server logs, and sign-in attempts, so we can keep the service secure and stop abuse.

We do not ask for payment details: you do not pay through GigCalm.

3. Why we use it

  • to run your account, sign you in and keep the session secure;
  • to make, show and cancel bookings, and to send the emails that belong to them (confirmations, cancellations);
  • to confirm that a phone number or a company is real, where those checks are on;
  • to protect the service: rate limiting, fraud and abuse prevention;
  • to understand how the service is used, in totals, such as how many bookings were made;
  • to meet legal duties and handle disputes.

We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Who sees it

  • The artist you book sees your name, phone number, email address and the booking, and for a company the company name. They need this to carry out the booking. Artists must use it only for that.
  • The public sees an artist's page: what the artist chose to publish. Clients' details are never public.
  • Service providers who help us run the service, such as hosting, the database and sending email. They process data on our behalf and only for that.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it.

A national company registry (data.gov.il) is queried with a company number to check that the company is active. No other personal data is sent to it.

5. Where it is stored

Data is stored with our hosting providers, which may be outside Israel. Where it is, we rely on providers that protect it to an adequate standard and on the safeguards the law requires.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account and bookings while the account exists, and afterwards only what we must keep for legal reasons or to settle a dispute. Server logs are kept for a short period. When you ask us to delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal data, except what the law requires us to keep.

7. Your rights

You may ask to see the data we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. You may also object to a use of it. Write to support@gigcalm.com; we may need to confirm who you are first, and we aim to answer within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our answer you may complain to the Privacy Protection Authority in Israel.

Giving us your data is not required by law, but without the details the service needs (for example a phone number where it is checked) we cannot make a booking for you.

8. Security

We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords, encrypted sensitive fields, limits on sign-in attempts, and access only for those who need it. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will act and notify as the law requires.

9. Children

The service is not meant for people under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think we hold such data, write to us and we will delete it.

10. Links and players from other services

Artists can add links to YouTube, SoundCloud and Mixcloud. A player from those services is loaded only after you press play, and from then on that service's own privacy policy applies to it. WhatsApp links open WhatsApp, which is a separate service.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and we will tell registered users about significant changes.
